About Me

I am a retired IT specialist.  I retired from the Iowa Department Of Transportation in 2010.

I grew up traveling all over the US as my father was an pilot in the Air Force. We lived in Indiana, Ohio, Louisiana, Texas, Kansas and Colorado before I reached high school. I graduated from the US Air Force Academy High School in 1964. I served in the US Army from 1964-1967 and spent a tour of duty in South Korea. I attended Colorado State University and Adams State College, both in Colorado, but I finally graduated from Iowa State University with a BS in English in 1989. Yes, I am a late bloomer. :-)

Now, I live near Ames, Iowa with my wife Cheryl and our dog Ginger.  I have two sons, Chris and Mark, both of whom are educators and who make me proud. I do a little driving for a local car dealership, I do a little traveling, I do a little reading, I do a little writing, and a little photography. Life, at least for now, is happily uncomplicated.
